Curvaceous, elegant GOLDENWAVE is individually hand cut from solid 14 Karat Gold sheet and gently curved by 2008 Beijing
Olympics winning sculptor Mark Weisbeck, who, together with his wife Diane, are two of only eight American artists who have achieved
winning finalists status in the 2008 Beijing, China Olympics Landscape Sculpture competition; the first official art competition in the
history of the Olympic Games. As the only artists from New York who have reached this level, out of a field of 2600 international
submissions, the Weisbecks are honored to represent both New York State as well as the United States in the Beijing, China Olympics.
The title of their sculpture is, "The Celebration of Ren," based on a Chinese pictograph of the letter "ren," which means "people." For

BULLETIN:

We have just been informed that our sculpture, "The
Celebration of Ren," has won the prestigious
"Excellent Works" Award in the International
Landscape Sculpture competition for the 2008
Beijing, China Olympics. This was the first time, in
the history of the Olympic Games, that art and
sculpture have been an official category. We are
honored to have represented the United States, as
well as New York State in this historic event. Our
sculpture is based on the Chinese pictograph "ren,"
which means people, shown at left. It is a 3-D
stainless steel "brush stroke," as well as an archway
toward peace and unity.
